Unlike traditional cell line-derived controls, our Benchmark Reference Standards (BRS) exhibit a higher density and closely resemble actual tissue in appearance. Additionally, Benchmark Reference Standards offer the following advantages:

Uniformity and Consistency

Our tissue-like CMAs are manufactured to exacting uniformity standards to provide a high-quality  biological calibrators. This critical for both the pathologist and any supplemental digital pathology analysis and allows for monitoring assay drift or performance.

Each Control CMA offers:
Manufactured in ISO13485 facility
Cell density uniformity throughout each core
Marker expression consistency throughout each core
Absolute consistency between batches of product.
All product is QC’d on multiple IHC platforms and analyzed by custom DP algorithms
Consistency is essential for low expressing cell lines when monitoring assay limit of detection (LOD)
Excellent intra- and inter-lab reproducibility

Stability & Value

Each tissue-like CMA block is 3-3.5mm in depth and if cut at 4 micron in batches can yield more than 400 sections.

Each product FFPE block has between 2-3 years shelf life when stored between 2-8 degrees C.
Cost saving specially designed packaging also allows for shipment at ambient temperatures.

These factors support the economics for using controls on every slide in the lab to improve quality monitoring for lab testing.
